1880's Willoughby Rentschler Cabinet Photo, Reading, Berks County PA


On reverse: "Willaby Rentschler" is handwritten in pencil on back, and "Eva L. Rentschler" is clearly stamped on the back with a rubber stamp. Photo type: Original Antique Victorian Cabinet Card Photograph, circa 1880's. Photographer: Saylor Art Studio & New York Gallery, 411 N. Sixth Street, Reading, Berks or Somerset County, Pennsylvania. (known to be photographer Charles Alexander Saylor or Charles A. Saylor 1838-1921)

1. Eva Rebecca L Rentschler 1885–1928 married Adam Franklin Speicher 1875–1946. he was the son of Adam Speicher 1838–1875 and Maria Mitchell 1841–1914, seen as Mary Mitchell.
2. Franklin Jacob Rentschler 1889–1974, appears to not have been married.

The beautiful old Rentschler family signed photo was found in Schenectady, Schenectady County, New York. It's especially wonderful that his daughter Eva had a Victorian era rubber stamp made of her name that we can see here. A clearly signed and stamped piece, and a rare Reading area photo. It has an amazing Saylor photographer's fancy adverting backmark, see photo. It was found in Kingston, Ulster County, New York.
