1870's William Talcott signed CDV Photo, Hartford County, Connecticut

#549:

On reverse: "Respectfully Yours, Wm Talcott" is broadly handwritten and hand signed, autographed in old period dip pen ink. (William Talcott) Type: Original Vintage Victorian CDV Carte de Visite Photograph. Photographer: S.H. Waite, 275 Main Street, Hartford, Connecticut, Hartford County. ((known to be photographer Stephen Waite or Stephen H. Waite 1832-1906 )

This is a beautiful old portrait of a man who appears as a prominent man in Hartford history. He has a great chin beard and looks to be born about 1820-30. It's great to have his own personal hand signed piece! The Talcotts were early founders of Hartford CT. There is a Talcott Street in Hartford.

We feel there is a very good chance this photo is of William Hamner Talcott, also seen as William H. Talcott, a Hartford Conn bookbinder and prominent citizen, see information below.
