This is a stunning close up portrait image of a beautiful Victorian woman, age about 18-30 years, with swept up hair, gold earrings and cape. It was taken by skilled Rock Island photographer Alfred Gayford, known for his Civil War CDV photos. It is slightly trimmed on edges, usually to fit into tight paper photo albums, as most were. Does not affect her actual image in any way. Found in New England. She is beautiful, and it is a beautiful Victorian fashion photograph as well. This surname is seen as Mickell and Mickel.
