1870's Louise McCoy CDV Photo, Manchester, Delaware County, Iowa
#049 McCoy Genealogy
On reverse: "Louise McCoy" is handwritten in old period dip pen ink. Photo type: Original Vintage Victorian Carte de visite CDV Photograph. Photographer: C.B. Mills, "The Premium Photographer", Manchester, Delaware County, Iowa. (known to be Manchester Iowa photographer Charles Mills, Charles B. Mills 1838-1924)
This is a Victorian "hidden mother" studio photo. The baby's mother would be draped behind holding the baby up for the long 30 second or more exposure in the photographer's studio, quite a feat!
A beautiful old 1870's CDV photo of baby Louise, who appears about 6 months old, in long lace gown. An interesting piece with an unusual and striking red border. It was found in Kingston, Ulster County New York. Louise may also have some east coast ties.
Size: 2.5 by 4 inches
