Levi Ezra Cline born 1869 in Minnesota to his father James Monroe Johnson 1845–1909, born in Wentworth, Grafton County, New Hampshire, and his mother Maria Louisa Hathaway Johnson 1852–1910 born in Harrison, Dearborn County, Indiana. She died in Rugby, Pierce, North Dakota. Levi's name is Cline and the rest of his family's name is Johnson, possibly James is his mother's second husband? We've found Madeline Strachan 1907–1984 listed as owner of this photo. She was born in North Dakota and died in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. Her mother was a Johnson and half sister to Levi Cline: Susanna Ann Johnson 1883–1961, born in Sauk Centre, Stearns, Minnesota and died in Wolf Point, Roosevelt, Montana. Her parents were James Monroe Johnson 1845–1909 and Maria Louisa Hathaway 1852–1910, above. She married John Strachan 1875–1955 and their children were Valma Strachan 1905–1983, Madeline Strachan 1907–1984 (owner of this photo), Etta Strachan born 1910, John Kenneth Strachan 1914–1990 and Richard Harold Strachan 1916–1984.
Much much more work needs to be done. A very close up and wonderful image of Levi and Kattie, her in a large and beautiful hat, she is very stylish! Levi & Kattie may be newlyweds here, although we believed this to be earlier than their marriage date of 1901, but possibly not. This photo was found in Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, a rare and beautiful family piece with many great genealogy clues.
