The surnames both Judson and White are prevalent in the history of Danbury Connecticut. The White brothers owned a successful millinery hat manufacturing business which they started in 1816 in Danbury. It employed over 50 people.
This family photo is slightly trimmed on edges, usually to fit into tight paper photo CDV albums, as most were. Does not affect his actual image in any way.
This is a beautiful White family Civil War era CDV photo, with Judson wearing an amazing 1860's handmade checkered suit. Great Victorian fashion. A wonderful piece presumably also photographed by a White family member. This White family also seems to have 19th c. Newburgh, Orange County, New York ties.
