"Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Arnold" is printed on front in beautiful calligraphy printed script. This Arnold family calling card was found in Portland, Maine, Cumberland County ME. This is printed on an early coated cardstock from the 1860-70s.
We found evidence of the "J.M. Arnold Shoe Company" in Bangor, Maine, Penobscot County. Harold "Harry" Arnold was heir to the JM Arnold Shoe Company, founded by his father. Harry worked in the family business, which was located on Exchange Street, Bangor, Penobscot County Maine. Harold L. Arnold was born about 1865, in Maine, the child of Jesse M. Arnold and Elizabeth A. Perry Arnold. He married Mabel H. Potter (Mabel Potter) on October 11, 1899 in Maine. They had one daughter during their marriage, Frances P. Arnold, 1902-1994. Harold Arnold died on January 6, 1924, in Bangor, Maine, at the age of 59, and was buried there.
