1890's JB McCaskey, 79th PA, Dentist, Lancaster Advertising Trade Card

This is a beautiful and graphic medical, dental advertising card, in near mint condition. This dentist was related to a very well known Lancaster County family of Civil War General William Spencer McCaskey, a Captain of the 79th Pennsylvania PA, Company "B".
Text on Card reads: J.B. McCaskey, Jr. DDS (Associate), Graduate D.D.S. Philadelphia Dental College, No. 11 East King Street, Lancaster, Pennsylvania (Lancaster County)

Joseph Barr MCCASKEY, Jr., (Joseph Barr, William, John1) was born in October 1871 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and died 15 July 1940 in Lancaster at age 69. He was buried 18 July 1940 in Lancaster Cemetery. Joseph was a graduate of the Philadelphia Dental College, now Temple University, class of 1890. He practiced dentistry with his father as J.B. McCaskey and Son in Lancaster.
Circa 1890 Joseph married Adda L. PORTER who was born in 1869 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, the daughter of Cyrus G. and Mary (Reed) Porter. She died 26 March 1959 in Lancaster at age 90 and was buried 28 March 1959 in Lancaster Cemetery.
Known children of Joseph Barr MCCASKEY, Jr., and Adda L. PORTER all born in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania were as follows (out of birth order):
1. Elizabeth Frances MCCASKEY was born 15 June 1894 and died 28 September 1971 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania at age 77. She married Ivan HERR circa 1928 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
2. Dorothy Porter MCCASKEY was born 16 February 1900. She died 24 December 1981 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania at age 81, and was buried 29 December 1981 in Woodward Hill Cemetery, Lancaster. Dorothy married Edward S. DILLER who was born 23 August 1903, Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and died 16 September 1981 in Pennsylvania at age 78. He was the son of William J. and Lida M. Diller. Edward was buried in Woodward Hill Cemetery.
3. Joseph Barr MCCASKEY III was born in 1903 and died 14 December 1967 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania at age 64. He was buried 18 December 1967 in Lancaster Cemetery. Joseph was a 1921 graduate of Franklin and Marshall Academy and graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in 1925. For 42 years he was employed by the Conestoga National Bank in Lancaster. Joseph never married.
4. Mame MCCASKEY was born in March 1892 and died at age 6 months 25 September 1892 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She was buried in Lancaster Cemetery.
