(known as James Winston Turner, born in New Ross, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1834 to parents George Greetham Turner 1798–1872 and Sophia Magdalena Fader 1807–1878. His wife Annie Elizabeth Thompson was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia is also known as "Eliza" in records. Joseph M. Wheyland was born in 1866 in Massachusetts, his father, Michael Wheyland 1819–1889 was 47, born in Ireland and his mother, Ellen Lenott Wheyland 1828–1886, was 38. (Note: His mother Ellen is also seen in records as Ellen Cohan born 1835 in Ireland, who died in Massachusetts, the daughter of Hugh Coen who died in 1870 and Sabina Cosgrove Coen 1805–1880. She is also seen as Ellen Lenot, Kane, Cohan or O'Coraen. Her gravestone in the Wheyland plot reads Ellen Wheyland 1828-1886) Some good Irish genealogy work needs to be done here on his mom.

Joe died in 1933 at the age of 67, and was buried in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. This surname has many spellings: Whaland, Wheland, Whalen, Wieland, Wielan, Whelen, Waylan, Wayland, Whaylan and Whayland. In 1899 his occupation is listed as a Teamster in Boston Directories. He is buried in the Wheyland family plot and listed as Joseph M. Wheyland 1866-1933 (aged 66–67) buried at Mount Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts in Section A Between St Joseph Ave and Cheverus Ave.

A stunningly beautiful CDV photo of a young and handsome Boston Irish 19th c boy, taken by a skilled photographer. He wears a heavy Victorian era wool coat. It was found in Brimfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts.
