Hiram B. Crosby, major, Norwich CT, mustered in in Aug. 22, 1862; lieutenant colonel, Sept. 14, 1864. 21st Infantry, was an adjutant Aug. 22,1862; Major Sept. 3, 1862; Lieutenant Colonel June 8, 1861,; Colonel June 27, 1864; Honorable Discharge Sept. 14, 1864.
Hiram B. Crosby was born in December 1836 in Connecticut. He married Margaret Ackerman in 1864. They had one child during their marriage. He died on October 7, 1900, in New York, New York, at the age of 63. child: Margaret Haggerty Crosby was born on July 4, 1873, in New York, the child of Hiram B. and Margaret. She married Edward Dudley Digges on August 10, 1920, in Los Angeles, California. She died on May 22, 1941, in San Diego, California, at the age of 67, and was buried in Glendale, California.
