1860's Hattie Graves CDV Photo, wife of Henry, Ohio, Indiana
#007:
On reverse: "Mrs. Hattie Graves, Mt. Vernon, Ind." is beautifully and finely handwritten in old dip pen ink script. Photo type: Original Vintage Victorian Carte de visite CDV Photograph. Photographer: unmarked, unknown.
Hattie's husband Henry's photo was taken in Cincinnati, Clermont County, Ohio and is very similar in appearance, and probably taken the same day. Mount Vernon, is in Wabash or Posey County, IN. It is assumed they migrated there after the photo was taken, or it may have been taken on their long journey.
A beautiful old CDV image of a woman in her forties. Hattie has her hand on a book to show her literacy, and a beautiful gown, bow in her hair...a stunning full pose portrait. Also see Henry's photo on our site for their genealogy story.
