"GEORGE W. LYMAN, manager of the Watsonville Ice and Cold Storage Company, California is a native of Rutland, Vermont, and represents a family whose members have been continuously and prominently identified with the marble industry of that state for a period of 70 years. Mr. Lyman received his education in the public schools of the Green Mountain state and in the fall of 1906 came to San Francisco, California, where he joined his brother, who had preceded him to the Pacific coast. Mr. Lyman was married on the 6th of September, 1911, to Miss Blanche Merrell, a native of California, and they have become the parents of three children: Barbara, Patricia and George W. Jr. Mr. Lyman is a Master Mason and also belongs to Watsonville Lodge, No. 1300, B. P. O. E., and to the local Exchange Club. He is foremost in every project for civic growth and development, and all who know him speak of him in terms of high regard." Source: "History of Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties, California by Fr.
