1890's Freda Higinbotham Cabinet Photo, Bloomfield, Ontario County NY

On reverse "Freda Higinbotham" is handwritten in old period pencil script. Photo type: Cabinet Card photograph. Photographer: Crandall Bros., Canandaigua, Ontario County, New York. (The Crandall Brothers were Canandaigua photographers Frederick Crandall or Fred D. Crandall and his brother William D. Crandall, known as Will Crandall or Will D. Crandall in business about 1883-1905)

Found in Public Genealogy Records:
Freda Louise Higinbotham 1889-1973 The daughter of Frederic Higinbotham & Ada E. Taylor Higinbotham (Ada Higinbotham) Note: She is buried next to her parents and her mother's Taylor parents in the East Bloomfield Cemetery, Ontario County, New York.

Sadly, Freda's mother Ada died when Freda was 4 years old. It appears she lived with cousins and family. Her father did remarry, see info below. Her sibling was a baby brother born 3 years before her, who died as an infant. His name was  George Raymond Higinbotham 1886-1886. She has oher half siblings.

Catharine Annie Higinbotham 1860-1887, died age 28

His 1st wife Ada Taylor above, died in 1893.
His 2nd wife Anna McCarthy McCann Higinbotham 1861-1942 add her kids and such
in Victor, Ontario County, New York. She and George McCann had 2 sons, Hugh McCann born 1885 & Charles McCann born 1899. George died when the children were 5 and 7 years old in 1895 and is buried in Victor, NY. Anna married Frederick Higinbotham in 1900. These 2 boys would be Freda's step siblings.

This photo ws found in Madison, Madison County, New York. This surname is seen spelled as Higinbotham and Higginbotham in census but the correct spelling is HIGINBOTHAM on gravestones. Freda is a beautiful smiling baby in a lace gown, a wonderful shot by a skilled photographer and a beautiful image of Victorian baby Freda. She is one of our favorites!
