On front: "Yours Truly, Fred Edgar" is handwritten finely in old dip pen ink. Please note: Middle initial may be an N or W. On reverse is "Mary Edgar" is handwritten in fine old dip pen ink. Found with a photo of Mary Edgar, her same handwriting on back, also on our site. Photo type: Carte de visite CDV Photograph. Photographer: B.H. Gurnsey, Sioux City Iowa, Woodbury County. (known to be Photographer Byron H. Gurnsey, Byron Gurnsey, who was in Sioux City, Iowa from 1863-73. He was also a partner to Bill Illingworth in the 1860's, and a Civil war soldier: Company C, Iowa 14th Infantry)
A beautiful old Civil war era CDV of a handsome young man, about 16-18 years old. This is a Civil war era photo. He and Mary may be related to Hattie & Henry Graves of Mt. Vernon Indiana, on our site, all were found together in Cincinnatti, Ohio.
