LOGANSPORT DAILY REPORTER Newspaper TUESDAY AFTERNOON, NOVEMBER 17, 1896: "Word was received here yesterday of the death of Frank G. Jaques, of Urbana, 111., formerly a resident of this city. Mr. Jaques has been an invalid for several years, and his death was not unexpected, He was the builder of the old mule car street railway line in this city. Several years ago he left here and went to Urbana to assume the management of the street railway in that city. He was an energetic, progressive business man unreservedly respected by all who knew him. The deceased leaves a wife and three children to survive him."
Logansport Pharos-Tribune News from Logansport, Indiana, Monday, November 16, 1896: "Death of Frank G. Jaques, one of the most prominent business men of Urbana, Illinois, died at his home in Urbana on Saturday evening at 5:15 o'clock. He has been an invalid for two or three years and bis death has been sadly anticipated for some time.Two or three years ago Mr. Jaques suffered from nervous prostration and his mental and physical energies were so badly effected that he was completely incapacitated for work and most of the time since has been a helpless invalid, confined constantly to his home. In his vigor, Mr. Jaques was a remarkable man. He was energetic to a high degree and had an immense capacity for work. He was an attorney bv profession and was very successful. He was greatly interested In the public library at Urbana and his individual efforts and frequent and llberal contributions placed the library on a solid foundation and made it possible to maintain it. He was general manager of the Urbana street railway at one time and was the builder of the Logansport Street Railway, and was a successful business man and accumulated a handsome fortune. His removal by death will be a loss that will be keenly felt in the business and social circles of Urbana. A widow and three children survive. The children are Robert Jaques, of Lafayette: Will Jaques of Texas, and Miss. Mannie Jaques of Urbana."
