#369 Tebbets Genealogy:
Printed on card: "Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Tebbets." This beautiful old card was found in the region of Portland, Maine, Cumberland County. It is printed on very fine, early and glossy Victorian era cardstock, high quality expensive paper.
These Victorian era cards were used to "call" and announce your Victorian "calling" at homes of friends, acquaintances, family members and business contacts. Generally the home had a tray or "Charger," which was a large vessel, often silver, to hold the beautiful cards.
Found in Public Genealogy Records:
We found evidence of the Tebbets Bros. Undertakers, and Enoch Tebbets as a successful coffin maker and "joiner and contractor" in Androscoggin County, Maine. This is a beautiful and early piece and personal calling card of this 19th c Tebbets family.
