This is a beautiful old 1870's CDV photo of Emma Nelson, who would be age 16 in 1875. Found in Ulster County NY, does she also have northeast ties? Her father John, a Civil War Sutler and veteran, owned a grocery business in Burlington, Iowa and later owned the Embalming Burial Case Company.

It is possible by handwritten date, that she was an alumni of the the class of 1875 of an unknown school. This is a wonderful and close up, intimate portrait of beautiful Emma.
