Found in New England, a beautiful embossed 1850-60's Civil War era calling card for an important Plimpton & Morse DAR SAR family. This beautiful card is thickly embossed on a white coated paper. As intended, it conveys wealth and esteem.

Albert is listed as a silk merchant in census records and lived in a very influential side of Boston. It's hard not to think of Downton Abbey when seeing his list of 1860 census employees! A beautiful piece, unusual to have a printed address (and one he was quite proud of) on a calling card. We do not know the relation of his business partner Joseph W. Plimpton to Albert, do you? This is one of Eliza and Albert's personal 19th c. card.

Size: 3.25 x 1.75 inches
