1880's Dewitt Cowdrey & James Franklin Business Card, Accountants NYC
Printed on card: "Cowdrey & Franklin. Accountants and Collectors, Dewitt C. Cowdrey and James T. Franklin, Room No. 5, No. 41 Thomas St, Corner Church St, New York." This card is from the 1890-1900's, and NYC New York is in Kings County.

Book: The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants: Foundation for a Profession by Julia Grant, Garland Publishing, 1995: 1878-1882 Dewitt Cowdrey & James Franklin were partners. Dewitt Cowdrey then went into business on his own.
This card was found in a large collection of 19th and early 20th c. material in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. The card is printed on heavy old off-white card stock, with simple early American typography fonts. This would have been their own personal card and is a one of a kind item, original and in wonderful vintage condition.
