Note: The reverse of her photo reads "Lattie" or "Lottie Barkley." Her name listed as Lattie is listed in the 1855 census, before their marriage. See scans.

Also NOTE: Photographer William Nims of Fort Edward was a prolific photographer. His bio can be found online in google books in "An historical sketch of the State Normal College at Albany N. Y. and a history of its graduates for fifty years 1844-1894, New York State University, Albany." It reads: William Nims taught district school four winter terms in Ft. Ann, N.Y.; 1 yr. in Andover, O.; associate Principal in Glens Falls Academy until falling health compelled abandonment of teaching; has been a photographer since 1846, a photographer and dairy farmer since 1873; m. 1844 H. I. Baker; 1861, H. A. Walling; one daughter by first marriage.

A wonderful historical Washington County NY Barkley family piece and Civil War veteran. It appears Robert and his wife Charlotte's photos were taken on the same day. A beautiful and rare set.
