This would have been Civil War veteran Benjamin Huthinson's personally printed and carried calling card in the Livermore, Maine Area. We have looked long and hard for further information on his wife Jennie Goodridge, her parents and their marriage, to no avail. Would love more info on her.  Any help or correction appreciated, email Debra here.

Found in a large lot of 19th c. material in Augusta, Maine, Kennebec County. A beautiful and large old card.  He is also seen as Benjamin Hutchison, Hutchingson, Hutcheson in census records, an incorrect spelling. These Victorian era cards were used to "call" and announce your Victorian "calling" at homes of friends, acquaintances, family members and business contacts. Generally the home had a tray or "Charger," which was a large vessel, often silver, to hold the beautiful cards.

Size: 2.5 x 4.5 inches
