1885 A.R. Darrow (Albert Darrow) New London CT Advertising Trade Card
A beautiful old original vintage 1880's American political advertising trade card for an old Hardware company called A.R. Darrow in New London Connecticut, New London County, CT. Printed Text reads: A.R. Darrow, Dealer in Paints, Oils, Varnishes, Window Glass, Brushes & c, & c. Corner State & Bradley Streets, New London, Conn.

Albert Rogers Darrow was born on August 28, 1837, in Waterford, Connecticut, the child of John Darrow and Lucy Darrow. He married E Augusta Beckwith (Emiline Augusta Beckwith, Emiline Beckwith, but also known as Augusta Darrow in census) about 1861. They had five children in 21 years. He died on July 1, 1917, in New London, Connecticut, at the age of 79.

The card features a lithographed illustration of a young boy playing and running, knocking over things, a cat chasing a mouse, a bird, a castle. A great genealogy piece for those also interested in the Connecticut Darrow family surname.
