1860's Ann Lewis Brown CDV Photo, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England

#839:

On reverse: "Mrs. Ann Lewis Brown, Grandpa Brown's mother" is handwritten in old period pencil. Photo Type: Original Antique Victorian CDV Carte de Visite Photograph. Photographer: Charles Nole, 105 New St., Birmingham, Warwickshire, UK.

This is an amazing image of Ann Brown, about 60 years old, wearing beautiful early Victorian attire. A book and pen/inkwell sits next to her on an early desk, to convey literacy and refinement. Our best guess is that she was born about 1800 and her maiden name is Ann Lewis. This photo was found in Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. It is assumed that Ann has American and possibly New England ties. A beautiful portrait.

Size: 4.5 by 7 inches
