Printed on the front: "Blame my Buttons, how cheap. A.J. Clemmans, at Olathe, Sells Hardware and Implements." Reverse has handwritten: "Remember me Cary" in old dip pen ink, as well as a verse handwritten very lightly in pencil with a poem which starts with "Remember me Cary" is illegible.

Andrew Jackson Clemmans born 1833, was a well known figure in the town of Olathe, Kansas KS, in Johnson County. He was sheriff, and married to Sarah Ann Parks Clemmans (Sarah Clemmans, Sarah A. Clemmans) of Harrison County, Ohio. He and Sarah migrated from Ohio to Kansas, and his business partner was a Mr. Gilbert.

He was also known as Andy J Clemmans, Andrew Clemmans and Andrus Clemmans in US census records. A great old piece. It was found in the Hudson Valley of New York, in Albany County NY. This is a beautiful old litho trade card of a Kansas store.
