Photo type: Original Antique Victorian CDV or Carte de Visite Photograph, 1860's Civil War era. Photographer: Unmarked, unknown for both, assumed to be taken by the same photographer. Miamisburg is in Montgomery County, Ohio.
This is a beautiful set of Civil War CDV photographs of Albert Ream and Barbara Ream. Each photo is clearly marked in the same old fine handwriting, with the location of where they lived all of their lives: Miamisburg, Ohio.

Albert R. Ream 1825-1892 was a coachmaker or carriage maker. He was born in Pennsylvania and died Miamisburg, Montgomery County, Ohio. He is buried at the Hill Grove Cemetery in Miamisburg, Ohio, with his wife and children. he was a Civil war soldier or veteran in the Co. D 131st Ohio Infantry. He married Barbara Swar below in 1849 Montgomery County, Ohio
Barbara A. Swar Ream 1830-1911 born in PA and died in Miamisburg, Ohio.

Her mother: Susan K Kauffman Swar 1802–1881
Their children were:
1. John R. Ream 1850–1894 married Victoria Spohn Ream 1852–1928. Their son was George Ream 1875–1892, who died age 17.
2. Susan Ream Whitesel 1854–1898, married William Whitesel (also seen as Weitzel in census)
3. Lelia Sonora Ream Weidner 1857–1954 married George Weidner 1851–1938. Their daughter was Georgianna Weidner Widau 1889–1992.
4. Albert S. Ream 1868–1944, married Ida May Zeller Ream 1872–1942, also seen as Ina May Clark Ream.

In 1900 census Barbara Ream is living with her grandchildren: Charles, Robert, Albert and Susie, Susan Weitzel. These photos are two stunningly clear and crisp close up portraits taken by a skilled unknown Ohio photographer. They were found together in 2007 in Hebron, Tolland County Connecticut. This surname is also seen as Reams. A beautiful and rare set.
