Note: Colrain was originally named as such in the 1700's, but appears on maps and in history as "Colraine" until 1873, the year Massachusetts declared it must drop the "e" and return to its original spelling.

Albert left Colrain and became a Boston milkman in US census records. Sadly, he died of paralysis at age 31 in 1876. We do not know if this was by accident or sickness. His son was born that year. He was returned to Colrain, where he is buried in the Colrain West Branch Cemetery with his family.

Interestingly, there is a pond named "Albert Davenport's Pond" in his hometown of Colrain, Massachusetts. We assume this is named after him, or an earlier Davenport ancestor family, any help or correction appreciated, email Debra here. This is a beautifully clear photo of a very handsome young Colrain Davenport family member, and is boldly hand signed.
