1890's John Corkhill Wallpaper Advertising Trade Card, Pittsfield, MA

A beautiful Pittsfield, Massachusetts large litho adveritisng trade card for the John Corkhill Wallpaper and Gilt Moulding Company in the 1890's in Pittsfield, Berkshire County, Western Massachusetts.

Text on the card reads: "Large and elegant stock of Wallpaper and Gilt Mouldings, Prices lower than ever. John Corkhill, 9 South Street, City of Pittsfield, Mass."

The card has printed in very small print on bottom front:

The image is a beautiful high quality litho image of a Victorian era young woman, side profile with feather hat. The condition is some corner wear on upper right, and the corner tip missing. The back is blank with a bit of discoloration from being lightly glued with mucilage into a scrapbook, all the Victorian rage at the turn of the last century. Rare and beautiful.

Found in Public Genealogy Records:
John Corkhill Jr. 1875–1951, born and died in the Pittsfield and Lanesborough, Berkshire County, Mass area. He was the son of John H. Corkhill Sr. 1852–1922
born in Manchester, England and died in Pittsfield. His paternal grandfather was William Corkhill 1801–1869 of Isle of Man, Dumfries-shire, Scotland who died in Manchester, Lancashire, England. He married Elizabeth Ashton Stansfield Corkhill 1817–1888 of Stockport, Cheshire, England, who also died in Pittsfield. (She was first married to John Stansfield or Stanfield in 1838 in England. It is believed she married William Corkhill in the 1840's-her daughter with William Corkhill was Elizabeth Corkhill Parry 1864-1915, born in Manchester, England and died aged 50 in Pittsfield MA)

His mother was Esther Haywood Hayward 1851–1917 born in New Brunswick, Canada and died in Pittsfield, Mass.She arrived in America in 1861.

His siblings were:
1. Eleanor Nellie H. Corkhill born 1877, who married Rutherford Boucher Hayes 1880–1935 and had children Frances Fannie May Hayes 1905–1995 and John Corkhill Hayes 1909–1961, who married Rosalind Rose Marie Bressett 1924–2006.
2. Charlotte Corkhill 1878–1939, known as Lottie Corkhill.
3. Frances Fannie Cordelia Corkhill Aldrich born 1880 in Pittsfield, and died in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. She married Claude Elliot Aldrich 1880–1963 of Moira, Franklin County, New York.
4. Gilbert Haywood Corkhill 1882–1936 who married Dora Gabriel Walsh 1884–1959 and had a daughter, Geraldine G. Corkhill Blair, born 1908. She married Clarence Albert Blair, born 1913.
5. Esther Corkhill Ross Bowerman 1885–1966, who married David Bruce Ross 1883–1915 in 1908. her second husband was Winthrop Heman Bowerman born 1894, and they had 2 children: Marjorie Esther Bowerman Murray born 1925, who married Rev. Herbert Jesse Murray Jr. 1925–2014, pastor of the Park Baptist Church in Staten Island, NY; and a son, Lawrence Edward Bowerman 1926–2006.
6. Bessie Corkhill Davison 1887–1943 whi married John Farrell Davison Sr. 1888–1955 and had 2 children, Esther Haywood Davison Roberts 1912–2000 (who married Wallace Addison Roberts 1911–1996) and John Farrell Davison Jr. 1914–1973.
7. Frederick Fred Ashton Corkhill 1889–1953 who married Mary Humphrey Corkhill 1897–1960

He married Lena Adriance Corkhill born 1875 in Pittsfield in 1897. She was the daughter of Cornelius Adriance born 1837 and Nancy Church Adriance born 1841. Their only child was Grace Etta Corkhill Campbell 1900–1970, who married Arthur Patrick Campbell 1901–1981
