Photographer: Scholten, 920 and 922 Olive Street, Cor 10th Street, St. Louis, Missouri, St. Louis County. This CDV photo has a very ornate, large photographer’s backmark printed in gold inks. It features a knight and shield theme, with printed calligraphy and Victorian embellishments. (known to be photographer John A. Scholten, 1829-1882, born in Rees, Germany)
Found in Public Genealogy Records: There is a Mrs. Sadie Hopkins living in St. Louis, Mo in 1903 in a directory called Gould's Blue Book. St. Louis, Missouri Directories, 1889-1890.
This beautiful photo was found in Camden, Knox County, Maine. She may have relatives in that area. Sadie may be a nickname for Sarah or Sara Hopkins. She is a young girl about 18 years old, born about 1860-1865 during the Civil War years.
