1876 Willie Andruss ID'd CDV Photo, Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan
On reverse: "Willie J. Andruss, Born Jan. 25th 1874, photographed Aug. 1876" is handwritten in beautiful old Victorian purple period dip pen ink. Photo type: CDV Carte de Visite Photograph, Victorian. Photographer: J.A. Foster, Rooms in Underwood Block, corner of Maumee and Main Sts., Adrian, Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan, MI. (known to be photographer Julius A. Foster 1824-1892, buried at Oakwood Cemetery. Adrian, Michigan. He worked in Adrian from 1856 until 1891 at his death at age 67. Note: He can also be found as Julian A Foster in genealogy records. He was born in NY state)
Sadly, we cannot find Willie or William Andruss (middle initial illegible, see photo below) His parents so carefully left us clues to his date of birth and info, and we simply cannot find him. Willie is beautifully dressed in tartan plaid, and obviously proudly loved, a beautiful boy.
Unfortunately, many children who were born and died between the dates of 1870-1880, are lost to the ages. We have uploaded a large photo of the beautiful handwriting on reverse for you to decipher. Is it Andrew, Andrews, Andruss, Andrus, Andress, Andres, Andriss, Ardruss? Did he leave Michigan as a youngster and travel to another state?

Note: Hello from ~debra. I have spent years collecting over 10,000 ID’d lost family photos & paper from US flea markets & antique shops. I do the best gen research I can, but am always open to corrections. This is an original antique item, not a reprint. A new high quality rigid sleeve is included for extra protection, especially during shipping. You may buy a piece alone, or large intimate 300 dpi scans of the front and back sent immediately via email, or both. Please search carefully, as they are often found together and many may be related. I also invite you to join me at Ancestorville Genealogy on facebook. Thank you, enjoy! ~Debra Clifford (contact info on top bar)
