Photographer: Bushby & Hart, No. 71 Broad Street, Lynn, Essex County MA. (known to be photographers Asa C. Bushby or Asa Bushby 1834-1897 and Samuel S. Hart or Samuel Stanley Hart 1840-1894)

This appears as a school portrait of Jim Teevan, and here is an enlarged photo of the signature below. We do see Irish Teevan family members in Boston and Brooklyn, King's County NYC, NY and they seem to have some Massachusetts ties. This piece needs a Teevan family genealogist to sort the information out.

It should be noted that:

1. This appears as a school / college photo. It is possible this Teevan relative went to school in Boston from another part of the US.

2. The Teevan surname is often listed as an Irish surname, but can also found in England, Scotland and Wales.

3. Bushby & Hart were in business from 1869 to about 1881 in Lynn. The photo reads that Jim is 18-20 years old, therefore young James would be born from about 1849 -1861, a great clue.

Note: This family photo is slightly trimmed on edges, usually to fit into the tight Victorian paper photo album sleeves. It does not affect his actual image in any way.
