On reverse: "George Oldt, Middlecreek" handwritten in old period pencil. Upside down is handwritten "next to ____" an illegible word we cannot decipher. George Oldt 1835–1915 born in Pennsylvania and died in Danville, Montour County, Pennsylvania. His father was Simon Oldt 1801–1867 of Buffalo Twp, Northumberland, Pennsylvania and his mother was Anna M Dreese Oldt, who died before 1840. he married Mary Amanda Klingler Oldt 1839–1927 and had 3 children: Joel Calvin Oldt 1865–1954 who married Amanda S Neiman born 1865; Ada N. Oldt 1868– and Anna Mary Oldt 1875 who first married William Harrison Napp 1874–1956, and then married Levi Luck or Levi Look and had 2 children, Nina May Luck 1895–1982 and Guy George Luck (or surname Look) born 1898.

A bit of a mystery photo., very light in tone. We have enhanced the photo greatly when you buy scans, to better see. This piece also has our own handwritten note, in pencil which reads "Found in Williamsburg Pennsylvania, 2002". Williamsburg is in Lycoming County PA and sits about 83 miles from Middle Creek. This CDV was just listed on our site in November of 2019.

The photo depicts 4 people: A young girl about 14, possibly her sister, about 20-25, an older gentleman and his wife, both in their 40-early 50's. If we had to take a guess, we would say it was taken around 1875 and that this is the Oldt family. The condition is not great on this piece, but it's still a wonderful and rare Oldt family treasure.
