Oct. 10, 1853; was graduated at Dartmouth College 1878 and Andover Theological Seminary 1881; was home missionary pastor in Minnesota, at Detroit, Lake Park, Lake View, and Audubon, 1881-84, and in North Dakota, 1885-9; superintendent for the Sunday School Society since 1889 in North Dakota, with home in Fargo, also for the Home Missionary Society, having care likewise for their work in northwestern Minnesota during nine years, and for about three years in Montana; also trustee of Fargo College since 1888; author of Chapter VIII in this volume."

Dr. Edwin Stickney can also be found listed extensively in online records. He is listed in the Congregational church as a missionary, and in the Congregational Yearbook. Residency in Campton, NH Seminary School, Graduate 1878, although the census has him in theological school in 1880. He is assumed to be a DD, Doctor of Divinity.

Google books: "Rev. Edwin H. Stickney, superintendent of the Congregational Home Missionary Society, has made a large impression on the state. He was born in Campton, N.H. His Stickney ancestors came to Massachusetts in 1639. Since 1885 he has been a part of the working forces of the state."

Edwin H. Stickney, was a also a home missionary to Minnesota and wrote about planting churches in Northern Minnesota and North Dakota. A wonderful old photo of an important man at about age 16-18 years of age.
