The only Davisons we can find in all of Jo Daviess county in this time period are Peter Davison & Moses Davison in the 1860 US Federal Census:

Interestingly, this was found in Ulster County, New York, and these Davison boys were born in NY. A beautiful old 1870's CDV photo of a drawing of young Leon, who appears about 4 years old. This is most likely a post mortem, funeral, memorial or mourning photo, it is peculiar, and artistically touched up, as in it is a mix of photography and a pastel drawing. Davidson is an alternative spelling.

We could find no reference to baby Leon or Leonard in public records. It is possible he did not make it into census records between the years of, say, 1870 to 1880. This is a  beautiful old post mortem CDV piece. Leon wears an amazing outfit with high button shoes, and sits on a plush velvet bench.
