His wife: Ellen Adeline Cogswell 1835–1875 born in Middlebury, Addison County, Vermont. Known as Nelly Cogswell. Her parents were Eber Evarts Cogswell 1808-1892 and Sarah Heath Cogswell 1810–1871.
Clementine Jane Cogswell Stearns 1834–1880 (also seen as Clementine Jennie) She married Elliot Nash Stearns 1816–1880.
Louisa Ann Cogswell Manney 1837–1887, married James J Manney 1841–1907

3. Leslie Cornell Mott 1872–1946 son, born in Oakland, Alameda County, California, married Centennia Barto Mott 1876–1973 about 1900 and they both attended Berkley.

Published 1883 in Nashua, New Hampshire: "Julius Harris Mott was a partner in the Storage Warehouse firm of J.H. Mott & Co., in San Francisco, California, where he resides. He married, June 9, 1862, Ellen Ada Cogswell of East Middlebury, Vt., daughter of Eber Cogswell and Sarah Heath Cogswell, born Dec. 21, 1835, and died in Sonora, Tuolumne County, Califronia, Aug. 21, 1875. Their children are now living with her father, Eber E. Cogswell, in East Middlebury, Vermont. Their 3 chidren: Ernest Julian, b. Sept. 27, 1877, in East Middlebury , Vt; Stella Hosmer, b. Aug. 28, 1868, in Washington, D.C; and Leslie Cornell, b. Sept. 4, 1872, in Oakland, California."
Found in Greenwich, Connecticut, CT in Fairfield County. This a stunningly clear portrait, handsome Julius has an unusual black fancy embroidered silk cravat or necktie. He is about 30 years of age in this photo. Sadly, his wife died young, in 1875, and their 3 children were raised in Vermont by her father Eber Cogswell, who lived until 1892. This is an important DAR, Daughters of the American Revolution and SAR Sons of the American Revolutionary War family.
