Text on this Folk art, Primitive British Antique Sampler Reads:
Alphabet on top in caps and smalls. Sewn icons: red tree, royal crown, red tree, green bush, red dog. Saying sewn on sampler: "I love them that love me, and those that seek me shall find me." Signed: J. Barr, age 13, Birmingham.  NOTE: Practice stitches are at bottom, and a running border all around.

This wonderful old antique, vintage Victorian Barr family sampler would be beautiful framed. It is a rare, one of a kind piece, an old hand signed cross stitch sampler, hand made, and hand sewn, on early linen fabric.  A great piece of 19th c. Barr family English folk art, found in Devon, England.
