On Front: "Dr A.C. Farr, Gosport, Indiana" is handwritten in fancy old period dip pen ink script. "Dr." is also handwritten in front of his name, presumably at a later date when he became a physician. "Sweetie" is also handwritten in the same hand. His father, Civil War Veteran Nathan Farr was born in 1822 in Wayne Township, Owen County, Indiana, and died in 1893 in Morgan, Indiana. He married Martha Goss (Martha Goss Farr) in 1843 in Owen, Indiana.

This is a beautiful Dr. Alexander Farr family photo. It was found in Madison County, New York and depicts a very young image of Dr. Farr, clearly signed or autographed by him. It is signed "Sweetie" and may have belonged to his young wife Cynthia Teague Farr, they married in 1875. Alex Farr appears to be in his late teens or early twenties in this photo. Gosport is a town in Wayne Township, Owen County, Indiana and Bloomington, where he was known to have his medical practice, is in Monroe County, Indiana.
