Photo Type: Victorian CDV Carte de Visite Photograph, circa 1870’s. Photographer: Bottom front reads "Frank Boggess" in printed script. (known to be photographer Frank Boggess 1852-1920, born in Illinois and died age aged 67 in Chillicothe, Peoria County, Illinois. He is buried at the Chillicothe City Cemetery in Peoria County, Illinois)

Sarah Johnson was born 1844 in Indiana. Her parents are listed as Andrew Jackson Claycomb 1812–1886 and Harriet Ann Whitman Claycomb 1821–1908, both born Kentucky. Her sister was Cora A. Preston born 1858.

Her father: Andrew Jackson Claycomb 1812–1886 born in Breckinridge, Kentucky, 
and died in Monmouth, Warren Co, Illinois. His parents were Fredrick Claycomb 1790–1835 and Mary Ann "Polly" Ahl Claycomb 1787–1855.

This family photo is slightly trimmed on edges, usually to fit into the tight Victorian paper photo album sleeves. It does not affect her actual image in any way. A great piece with many great clues!

It was found in Brimfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts and needs a great Claycomb family researcher to decipher and piece all this great info together. it may be possible that Andy & Polly are her aunt and uncle and not her parents, as she refers to them as such. Why is her surname Johnson and her sister's surname Preston? Any help or correction appreciated, email Debra here.
