This is a circa 1875 "hidden mother" studio photo. The baby's mother would be draped behind holding the baby up for the long 30 second or more exposure in the photographer's studio, quite a feat! A beautiful clear image of baby Fred. Do you know this Dodge family of the Waukegan area of Illinois?
