2. Mary Jane Staples Trufant 1846–1922 married Arba Hyde Trufant 1841–1923. He was a Civil War soldier in Company A, Maine 29th Infantry Regiment. He was mustered out on June 5, 1865. Their 3 children were: Carrie M. Trufant 1869–1873, died age 4; Lillian Amelia Trufant 1876–1949 and Lester Hall Trufant 1882–1960. Josiah was living with her in his nineties in the 1910 census. He died in 1912, at age 97.
3. Abigail E. Staples 1849–1854, died age 5.
4. Abbie E. Staples 1856–1860, died age 6.
