1900 Antique Bottle Goulding Spring Water Company Advertising Label

CONDITION: A Mint, beautiful. Original old paper bottle label. Colorful lithograph of the Goulding crest. Label measures 4" x 3" - Unused condition.

This is a beautiful, clean, and vibrant old early lithograph Victorian horizontal American bottle label. It is early original antique medical and doctor related ephemera. In 1880, Lewis Goulding was the owner of Goulding's Temperance Drinks, which could be purchased for 75 cents a case.  The case included 24 bottles of tonic water of diverse flavors.

Found in Public Genealogy Records: Lewis Goulding 1839-1908 was born in Garland, Penobscot County, Maine and died in Whitman, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. he is buried in Colebrook Cemetery in Whitman, Plymouth County, Mass. His Father was Lewis Goulding and his mother was Maria Holbrook Haskell Goulding 1808–1881. He married Harriet E. Russell Goulding 1842. His son was Lewis Edward Goulding born 1879, who married Issie Dora Holmes 1877–1959. Their children were Phyllis Ellen Goulding Lagerquist born 1908 who forst married Clarence Richard Lagerquist, born 1904 and second married Jerome Michael Coakley Sr. born 1906; Mildred Etta Goulding Willis, born 1910, who married Clinton Harvey Willis born 1907; and Edna Grace Goulding Davidson, born 1913 who married Charles Russell Davidson, born 1915.

This original antique vintage American Temperance era advertising Label is in excellent mint unused condition. It was never glued to the original circa 1900 antique glass mineral water bottle.

Text reads: Goulding Spring Lithia Water. Recommended for Dyspepsia, Rheumatism and Kidney Troubles. Whitman, Mass. Lewis Goulding, Spring Lithia water, Whitman, MA Label. It has a Coat of arms.  It was found in Brimfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. We only have this one.
