(known to be George Nelson Cobb 1847-1920, or George N. Cobb, born in Middletown, Orange County, New York to Zipron Cobb 1816–1883 and Sarah Maria Crane Cobb 1820–1904. George's wife was Augusta Campbell Cobb 1849–1942. He died in Binghamton, Broome County, New York in 1920. George first worked as a photographer in Montrose, Susquehanna, Pennsylvania in the 1850's and in 1856 bought out the photographic studio of J.B. Hazleton there. (photographer John B. Hazelton) It is assumed he was an apprentice to Hazelton. In 1870, he bought the gallery of Ambrose Hickcox in Binghamton NY, where he worked until 1903. His long time photo studio was at at 75 & 77 Court St., Binghamton NY)

Arminda E Osborn 1854–1928, born in PA and died in Jessup, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. Also seen as Arminda Dewitt, Arminda Osborn, Orminda E. Osborne DeWitt, Orminda Dewitt and Minda Dewitt. Her parents were Hiram Osborn 1820–1905 and Mary A Cronk Osborn 1833–1902.

Her husband: Edgar Van Noy DeWitt 1849–1926 born in Helgins, Schuylkill County, PA and died in Jessup, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. His parents were Simeon Stoddard DeWitt 1815–1898 and Sally Venoy DeWitt 1813–1884. His grandparents on his father's side were Jezreel Dewitt 1786–1868 and Lucy Stoddard Dewitt 1790–1831. They married in 1875 and this may be their wedding photo.

This is a wonderful 1860's post Civil War era CDV photo of a Arminda / Orminda wearing a striped hoop skirt dress, with a pink hand tinted tie, before the advent of color photography. She is standing next to a seated man assumed to be her husband Edward Dewitt. This photo was found in Upstate New York in Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York. It is is slightly trimmed on edges, usually to fit into the tight Victorian paper photo album sleeves. It does not affect their actual image in any way. A beautiful CDV, it has a very beautiful and ornate advertising backmark, fancy and graphic. Census records also read Minda Osborn. Her name is spelled Orminda on her gravestone and Arminda on her death certificate. The photo is clearly hand signed Arminda E. Osborn.
