This is a "hidden mother" studio photo. The baby's mother would be draped behind the paisley woolen blanket holding Bessie up for the long 30 second or more exposure in the photographer's studio, quite a feat!

A wonderful old circa 1885 photo of adorable baby Bessie in her little hightop button shoes. Her surname is misspelled as "Boseworth" on the photo, but was actually Bosworth. Interestingly, this photo was found in Onondaga County, New York State, does she have family ties there?
