This is a beautiful old 1840's daguerreotype image of a father, mother and two children. He wears a polka dot silk cravat around around his neck. They may be in Victorian mourning, as they are dressed heavily in black. The parents appear to have been born the 1810-1820 era. The children would have been born in the early 1840's.

Wonderfully, in 1949, the wife of Mr. WT Keel carefully wrote a transcription on the reverse of this photo and her address a century later, in 1949. They live in the village of Hockley Heath, in the county of Warwickshire, England. We feel strongly that this is the family of 19th century William Thomas Keel, as seen in the England and Warwickshire census. A lovely signed Keel family piece, found in Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom. wonderful genealogy clues to follow!
