This CDV has a George Washington 3 Cent Internal Revenue Proprietary Tax Stamp.In August 1864 to August 1866, the US government taxed photographs to help pay for the American Civil war. Revenue stamps were placed on the back of photos, and “hand cancelled" by the photographer. CDV's with revenue stamps are collectible for stamp and vintage photography collectors. It is a way to date a Civil War era photograph.

His wife Mary Alice was born in 1846 in Kentucky to Thomas Jefferon Tichenor (born 1817) and Hannah Eggen Tichenor (born 1820), and had 2 brothers and 4 sisters, a total of 7 Tichenor children. Mary Alice died in 1899 in Oklahoma at the age of 52.
His sister: Pernubia Reasor born about 1830 in Kentucky to parents James Herbert Reasor and Patsy Reasor (nee Patsy Nowlin) Father James was born on August 6 1803 in the Michael Reasor Homestead in Little Mount, Spencer County, Kentucky. This is a beautiful and rare photo of a Rebel Soldier. Found in Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky. Reeser is an alternative spelling of this surname. A well researched family, and a wonderful early and original Civil War piece. We feel lucky to have found him.
