There is a handwritten message that reads:
On front: "Henry Weixelfelder's Home, I will stop here for a few minutes Thursday and say hello in the auto, I can go on the trip, are most tickled to death. Mae and I should be out on the porch but look for us out in the Ford taking the picture." is printed on card with photo.

On reverse in same hand: "Dear "Sis", Your cards just came mailed at St. Louis, don't melt away. Mae and I gave our order for the ladies to make six comforts, so we tied them in Southworth Yard this afternoon, had a nice time. The ladies were asking us about you and if it was hot. We told them you had not mentioned the weather. Be sure you see all you can, but don't work Uncle Jim so hard-kiss him for me. You are missing a great deal at not being home to laugh at Aunt & Grandma. Aunt now has some kind of a machine working on all of us."  is handwritten in old sepia fountain pen ink.

Note: Henry is listed in the Eugene Oregon City Directories from 1905-1918. We see this name written as WEISELFELDER, WEIXSELFELDER, WERXSELFELDER, WIEKELFELDER and WEISSENFELDER in census records.

Found in Roseburg, Douglas County, Oregon. Macon City, Missouri is in Macon County and Eugene, Oregon is in Lane County. We believe the reference to tying a "comfort" is a warm quilt. It seems Henry has early Missouri ties after arriving from Germany, and also to this JG Howe and Lola Howe family. Much more genealogy work could be done.  A beautiful piece.
