1870's Joachim Henry Panzenhagen Penzenhagen & Wife Wedding CDV Photo

On reverse: "Henry Penzenhagen & wife" is handwritten in pencil on a piece of the old photo album sleeve, which someone taped on reverse. Note spelling, we believe, according to our census work, that the correct spelling is Panzenhagen. Photo type: Vintage Victorian Carte de visite CDV Photograph. Photographer: illegible printed text peeking out from under the photo paper, we can make out the area: Lockport, N.Y. which is in Niagara County, close to Niagara Falls, and a very popular Victorian honeymoon spot in the 19th century.

Henry Panzenhagen was found living in Onawa, Monona, Iowa in the 1900 census, listed as born April 1846 in Germany, married to Frederica Panzenhagen

He may be the J Henry Panzenhagen (born 26 July 1846 and died 18 Feb 1917) who is buried in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. There is a death record listed for Joachim Henry Panzenhagen, born 1847, died 18 Feb 1917 in Boyd, Lac Qui Parle County, Minnesota. His parents were Joachim Panzenhagen & Friederika Lenter.

Henry Panzenhagen, wife Fredricka Pansenhagen, and sons Bernhard & Magnus are living in Burton, Yellow Medicine, MN in the 1910 Census. Daugter Clara Panzenhagen Carstens is buried in Tolley, Renville County, North Dakota.

In the 1920 census, "Ferderick" Panzenhagen, widow, 65, is living with her son-in-law Gust Carsens or Gustav Carstens. Her daughter Clara, and the Carsten's children are in Sauk Prairie, Ward County, North Dakota.

This is a beautiful old 19th c. CDV photo of a couple, she in a Victorian wedding veil and train. They appear to be in their twenties. It was found in Devils Lake, North Dakota, in Ramsey County.
