This is a great image of a man in his thirties, a very clear and crisp close up. In 1864-66 the US government taxed photography to help pay for the American Civil war. Revenue stamps were placed on the back of photos, and hand cancelled by the photographer. This CDV has a green cancelled 3 cent revenue stamp.
