This beautiful 5 x 7 inch family photo has a chip in the mount, as seen in scan. It does not affect the actual image in any way. It is a wonderful photo of these two, and one of our favorites. Her hand is on his shoulder, he sits in a rocking chair, wearing well worn shoes. Just a beautiful American portrait of a farm family, taken in Iowa.

Virginia and West Virginia were once one, and Ohio and WV also share many boundary lines, thus any confusion in birthplaces listed in US census records. Washington County OH comprises the Parkersburg, Marietta, and Vienna, WV & OH areas.

This photo was found in Chester, Windsor County, Vermont with a wide range of 19th c. New England family Photos, thus this family may also have ties there.
