1870s Bertha Fisher Nast CDV-Milwaukee County Wisconsin by Hugo Broich
A beautiful old hand signed CDV of Bertha Fisher Nast, about 15 years old, born approx 1855-65. I have been buying thousands of old signed photographs in the Northeast US at flea markets since the 1990's, including this one. The photographer's backmark on reverse reads: H. Broich, 116 and 118 Spring Street, Milwaukee (Hugo Broich 1831-1905 was a German immigrant who came to Milwaukee as a lithographer, photographer, and portrait painter. He started in daguerreotypes. His studio was at 3rd and Chestnut streets there from 1858 to 1870. He then moved to 116 and 118 Spring Street in Milwaukee in 1870. (Spring Street was changed to Grand Avenue in 1876 then to Wisconsin Avenue in 1926) He retired in 1896 and died in 1905)
A beautiful 19th century Victorian era Bertha Nast family and Milwaukee County regional history piece.
Size: 2.5 by 4 inches
Note: Hello from ~debra. I have spent years collecting over 10,000 ID’d lost family photos & paper from US flea markets & antique shops. I do the best gen research I can, but am always open to corrections. This is an original antique item, not a reprint. A new high quality rigid sleeve is included for extra protection, especially during shipping. You may buy a piece alone, or large intimate 300 dpi scans of the front and back sent immediately via email, or both. Please search carefully, as they are often found together and many may be related. I also invite you to join me at Ancestorville Genealogy on facebook. Thank you, enjoy! ~Debra Clifford (contact info on top bar)
