(known to be famous and prolific photographer Thomas M V Doughty 1840–1911 born in Union Vale, Dutchess County, New York and died in Winsted, Connecticut. His parents were John Bunker Doughty 1799–1863 and Phoebe Van Vlack 1800–1876. He learned his trade from Daguerreian Seth Catlin Landon 1824-1908 in Litchfield County, Connecticut)

We believe strongly that this is an 1860 photo of a young Allen Norton:
Allen Hawley Norton 1849-1901 born in Sandisfield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, and died in Winsted, Litchfield County, Connecticut, buried at the Winsted Old Burying Ground.
His parents were Joseph Hunt Norton 1814–1895 and Maria Lucia Hawley Norton 1828–1899. He was married in 1877 to Mary Amanda Miller Norton 1852–1894. His sister was Mary A Norton Phillips 1853–1877 and his children were Helen M Norton 1879–1885, who died at age 6 and Joseph Allen Norton 1884–1949, who married Annie M. Rood Norton 1883–1979.
A beautiful close up portrait of AH Norton taken in Winsted at about 20 years of age. It was found in Brimfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. He is also seen in genealogy records as Allen H. Norton, AH Norton and Allen Hunt Norton.
